HVAC/R Instructor
Strata Tech Education Group | Tulsa Welding School | The Refrigeration School is hiring full-time, onsite Instructors for days, evenings and weekends!
Help shape the future of trades. As an Instructor, you will lead hands-on training, mentor students, and support classroom safety, tool management, and curriculum delivery.
Role Responsibilities:
- Motivate students by demonstrating professionalism, enthusiasm, and sensitivity for their concerns.
- Engage students, actively involving them in classroom discussions and/or activities.
- Identify different student learning styles and adjust your own style accordingly.
- Maintain accurate record keeping, as it applies to student attendance and their grades, and advise students on their attendance, grades, and discipline issues, as necessary.
- Create and maintain a safe environment at all times.
- Manage all tools assigned to the classroom. Issue, inspect, repair, and teach proper handling of those tools.
- Communicate, support, and enforce school policies and procedures at all times, and advise students accordingly.
- Ensure an ethical and fair testing environment during periods of testing.
- Maintain classroom equipment through evaluation, inspection, parts ordering, and repair.
- Evaluate the curriculum to ensure continuing relevance.
- Conform to prescribed methods of record keeping, as directed by supervisory staff.
- Communicate promptly regarding supplies, tools, or other essentials needed for students in the classroom.
- Maintain a working field knowledge through continuing education and demonstrate continuing professional development of your technical expertise, and as an instructor.
- Attend semi-annual graduation ceremonies; attendance is mandatory for our instructors.
Requirements include:
- High School diploma or GED. (Jacksonville only- 18 SCH of post-higher education)
- 3-5 years of hands on experience in the last 10 years of field taught
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Work in shop or lab environments
