The CYBER-CARE consortium at the University of Houston is looking for a non-tenure track Research Assistant Professor, effective as soon as possible.

Prospective candidates are required to have a doctoral degree in Transportation Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Urban Planning, or a field closely related to transportation and cybersecurity. The successful candidates will contribute to multiple research and education projects in the following areas:

• Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) Cybersecurity
• AI Applications and Transportation Data Security
• Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) Cybersecurity
• Next-Generation Transportation Cybersecurity System

The CYBER-CARE consortium, USDOT Tier‑1 University Transportation Center, aims to promote interdisciplinary research and education across both transportation and cybersecurity domains. CYBER-CARE’s consortium partners include Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), Rice University (Rice), Texas A&M University‑Corpus Christi (TAMU‑CC), the University of Cincinnati (UC), and the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (UHM).

Other preferred qualifications include: experience in proposal writing, strong programming or data analysis skills, and excellent academic writing and presentation skills.

Research Assistant Professor level appointments are expected to have a minimum of one year of postdoctoral experience.

Successful candidates should submit the output of their work to scientific conferences and professional meetings. CYBER-CARE will recruit multiple fully funded PhD students very soon. The successful candidates should help to supervise PhD students involved in the projects and should offer a management workload (around 20%) to the CYBER-CARE Center.
