The purpose and scope of this position is to provide learning activities and support that lead to the achievement of course objectives and contribute to the educational environment of the college and the community. Primary responsibilities include planning, developing, and teaching courses within the curriculum in a manner that facilitates student learning.

- Ability to appreciate alternative viewpoints; ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people
- Interest in interdisciplinary teaching, service learning, learning technologies, course development, and adult learning methodologies including collaborative learning, learning communities, and distance learning
- Commitment to academic excellence, exceptional service, and providing a dynamic climate for lifelong learning
- Ability to develop and implement instructional approaches such as service learning/civic engagement, learning communities, and effective use of technology
- Ability to use effective strategies to engage students in their learning
- Work may require standing for long periods, walking on various surfaces, bending, crouching, stretching, reaching, and lifting moderately heavy items as needed
- Work is performed in a classroom or lab environment with safety considerations typical of the discipline
- Hours vary depending on class time; instructors are required to meet scheduled classes and be available to students outside of class instruction
- Equipment includes PC workstation, calculator, phone, and standard office equipment
- Associate's degree in engineering graphics, drafting technology or computer-aided design in the structural, civil or architectural fields and a minimum of 3 years work experience in the field, or
- Bachelor's degree in architecture or structural/civil engineering or engineering technology or construction management and a minimum of 3 years work experience in the field
Salary: $55.44 per contact hour.
