Vocal Coach

Role Description

The Vocal Coach will provide structured, in-person vocal training to students of varying ages and skill levels, focusing on healthy technique, musical expression, and performance readiness. This on-site role is based in Greater Houston and includes planning and delivering individual and group lessons, selecting appropriate repertoire, and integrating music theory and ear training into instruction. The Vocal Coach will support students in worship-leading and contemporary Christian music contexts, prepare learners for recitals and live performances, and offer constructive feedback to help them progress toward their musical and personal goals.

Responsibilities also include collaborating with other faculty members, maintaining lesson records, participating in school events, and contributing to a supportive, values-driven learning environment.

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Vocal Coaching and Singing for a variety of musical styles and levels.
• Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Music and Music Theory to integrate into lessons and repertoire selection.
• Candidates should possess practical skills in Piano to accompany students and support vocal instruction when needed.
• Candidates should possess effective communication, mentorship, and classroom management abilities to work with diverse age groups.
• Formal training in music (degree, certification, or equivalent experience) and prior teaching or coaching experience are highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with contemporary Christian music and comfort working in a faith-based educational environment are advantageous.
• Ability to work on-site in Greater Houston, with flexible scheduling for evenings or weekends as needed.
