Admissions And Student Affairs Coordinator

UTHealth is seeking an Admissions and Student Affairs Coordinator. We are looking for someone with strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational and project coordination skills. You should have experience in higher education, academic medicine, student affairs, admissions, or related areas within these educational environments. It will be helpful if you have experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting data.

This role will maintain the confidentiality of student records and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. You should have knowledge of student information systems, database management, and electronic document management systems. It would be advantageous if you have experience coordinating student programs, events, workshops, and orientations, as well as pipeline initiatives, and strong customer service skills. Any bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is preferred to support a diverse student population.

Position Summary:

Coordinates and administers student services programs for admissions and student affairs.

Position

Key Accountabilities:

1. Provides assistance with the coordination of student services programs for prospective students, applicants, and current students to ensure the achievement of the program's goals and objectives.

2. Conducts surveys and gathers and analyzes data to assist deans and directors in the preparation of program materials, internal reports, and documents for presentation at meetings and conferences.

3. Organizes, coordinates, collects, and compiles student documentation and attestations housed in OASA student records.

4. Provides support in recommending and implementing policies and procedures to improve student services programming, planning, scheduling, and training for applicants and pre-clinical and clinical students.

5. Assists deans and directors with logistics and coordination of special pipeline programs, such as the Joint Admissions Medical Program.

6. Prepares general correspondence to students, including various monthly email communications.

7. Monitors various email listservs owned by the office and fields general and frequently asked questions.

8. Assists in examination administration, as needed.

9. Coordinates acquisition and dissemination of appropriate materials and resources provided by the Office of Admissions and Student Affairs to students per education level (e.g., personal protective equipment, badges, study aids,…
