2026 Summer School High School Counselor @ Instruction/Curriculum

Primary

Purpose:

To provide counseling and guidance services to students enrolled in summer school, with a keen focus on academic support and social-emotional development within a Comprehensive Counseling Program. The Summer School Counselor works collaboratively with teachers and administrators to ensure students are making positive progress during the summer session and providing appropriate resources and referrals, as appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Current Professional School Counselor
• Valid Texas School Counseling Credentials
• Understanding of Course Scheduling Dynamics

Skills:

• Ability to provide academic and social emotional support for students
• Ability to work with children with varied needs
• Ability to follow policy and procedures
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrates a professional appearance and attitude

Experience:

• Three (3) years of School Counseling experience required

7-hour workday

Salary: $35 an hour

Meetings are held March through May.

This position is funded for the  school year.

Summer School Dates:
June 3, 2026 - June 30, 2026

Length of employment: 14 Days (after  contract ends June 5, 2026)

Week 1:
June 3-4 (still on  contract and will work week 1 of summer school)

Week 2:
June 8-11

Week 3:
June 15-18

Week 4:
June 22-25

Week 5:
June 29-30
