Salary: $49,400 - $63,000 (Commensurate with Experience/Education)
DescriptionManages the day-to-day operations of a large program or department within the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine (COM), including the supervision of staff employees, student workers, programs or processes.
Responsibilities- Support Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine student organizations through partnership with the UH Center for Student involvement.
- Develop and facilitate student organization training for students and advisors annually.
- Maintain and disseminate the student organization handbook and policies.
- Oversee student organization budgets.
- Serve as the advisor to student councils and oversee student elections.
- Monitor utilization of all student campus spaces managed by the Office of Student Affairs, Admissions, and outreach.
- Manage the planning and approval processes for student organization events.
- Assist with development, dissemination, and reporting of student engagement assessments.
- Develop and assess engagement opportunities sponsored by the Office of Student Affairs, Admissions and Outreach.
- Interact with faculty, staff, and students to support the well-being of medical students.
- Provide support to Learning community professors through supervision of learning community reps, oversight of student engagement budget, assisting with planning and executing student-facing events, and providing leadership for community building activities.
- Develop, facilitate, and assess programming to foster social wellbeing of college of medicine students.
- Assist with the coordination and execution of learning community programming during orientation.
- Supports the planning and execution of all major events in Student Affairs.
- Provide supervision to student employees as needed within the department.
- Performs other job related duties as required.
Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
Experience: Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience. Certification/Licensing:
None.
Department flexibility: The Department is willing to accept experience in lieu of education and education in lieu of experience.
