Library Media Center Assistant
Primary
Purpose:
Assist the media services specialist (librarian) in implementing successful library programs. Perform required clerical tasks necessary for the proper functioning of the library media center. Aid the librarian in providing a positive library environment for both students and teachers.
Qualifications:
Education/certification:
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED, plus:
Two years of study at an institution of higher education totaling 48 hours, or Associates Degree, or Passing score on the "Paraprofessional Assessment of Competencies" exam, to be administered by Alvin ISD. (
Note:
the test is approximately 3 hours. In order to take the PAC exam, you must have a current application online. If you are selected for an interview, transcripts showing your degree or college hours should be presented at that time) Valid Texas Education Aide Certificate (obtainable through Alvin ISD when hired)
Special knowledge/skills:
Ability to work well with children Knowledge of general office equipment Computer skills Proficiency in performing filing and other clerical tasks Good organizational and communication skills Knowledge in use of copier
Experience:
Some experience working with children.
Salary: PG 1 /184 days Starting: $19,624
