Position: Spanish Math Teacher Pool (26/27)

Compensation Package

Certified teachers:
Starting salary of $61,000 per year. Non-certified teachers:
Starting salary of $58,000 per year. All starting amounts include a $2,000 STAAR Tested Grade‑Level stipend.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for the subject and grade level assigned.
  • Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
Special Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of the core academic subject area assigned.
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instructional practices.
  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Professional Experience
  • One year of student teaching or an approved internship.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements and reflect accommodations for individual student differences.
  • Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology, aligning with Texas Education Agency guidelines.
  • Conduct assessments of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula for special education students in accordance with IEP guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods per district requirements.
  • Plan and assign work to instructional aides and volunteers, overseeing completion.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
  • Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned and sponsor approved outside activities.
  • Serve as a positive role model, supporting the mission of the school district.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students’ physical, social, and emotional development.
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and handbook.
  • Takes necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
  • Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
  • Compile, maintain, and file all required reports, records, and documents.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
  • Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
  • Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
  • Attend faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Direct the work of assigned instructional aides.
