Compensation Package
Certified teachers:
Starting salary of $61,000 per year. Non-certified teachers:
Starting salary of $58,000 per year. All starting amounts include a $2,000 STAAR Tested Grade‑Level stipend.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for the subject and grade level assigned.
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
- Knowledge of the core academic subject area assigned.
- Knowledge of curriculum and instructional practices.
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- One year of student teaching or an approved internship.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements and reflect accommodations for individual student differences.
- Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology, aligning with Texas Education Agency guidelines.
- Conduct assessments of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
- Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula for special education students in accordance with IEP guidelines.
- Collaborate with other staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods per district requirements.
- Plan and assign work to instructional aides and volunteers, overseeing completion.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
- Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned and sponsor approved outside activities.
- Serve as a positive role model, supporting the mission of the school district.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students’ physical, social, and emotional development.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and handbook.
- Takes necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
- Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Compile, maintain, and file all required reports, records, and documents.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
- Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
- Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
- Attend faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
- Direct the work of assigned instructional aides.
