Job Description

JOB TITLE: Middle School Associate Principal – Accelerating Campus Excellence (ACE) Campus

REPORTS TO: Principal on Special Assignment – ACE Campus

WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt

PAY GRADE: CA 2

ACE STIPEND: $15,000 Annual ACE Leadership Stipend (in accordance with the District ACE Compensation Plan)

PRIMARY

PURPOSE:

The Associate Principal – Accelerating Campus Excellence (ACE) Middle School assists the campus principal in implementing the Accelerating Campus Excellence (ACE) turnaround model and ensuring strong instructional leadership, effective school operations, and systems that accelerate student achievement.

The ACE Associate Principal plays a key role in strengthening instructional practices, supporting teacher development, monitoring student achievement data, and implementing systems of accountability designed to improve academic outcomes. The Associate Principal works closely with the campus principal and instructional leadership team to ensure rigorous instruction, effective teacher coaching, and data-driven decision making that results in measurable student growth.

The Associate Principal must act with integrity, support organizational goals, demonstrate ability to inspire and support staff, utilize feedback to improve performance, drive results, and champion the needs of students, employees, and the district.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas Assistant Principal or other appropriate administrative certification
  • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
  • Three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience
  • Two (2) years of experience as a campus administrator

Preferred:

  • Five (5) years of classroom teaching experience
  • Experience supporting instructional coaching and teacher development
  • Experience working in high-needs or turnaround campuses
  • Experience analyzing student achievement data to support instructional improvement
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred in some settings
Special Knowledge / Skills
  • Thorough understanding of school operations and campus management systems
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and effective teaching practices
  • Ability to analyze and interpret student achievement data to guide instructional improvement
  • Knowledge of state accountability systems and campus improvement planning
  • Ability to coach teachers and support instructional improvement
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to coordinate campus support operations and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and compliance requirements
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to build collaborative teams and support a culture of accountability
Major Responsibilities and Duties Instructional Management
  • Support implementation of the Accelerating Campus Excellence (ACE) instructional model.
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of educational programs aligned with campus improvement goals.
  • Monitor classroom instruction and support teachers in implementing rigorous, standards-aligned instructional practices.
  • Encourage and support the development of innovative instructional programs and research‑based strategies that improve student outcomes.
  • Promote the effective use of technology in the teaching and learning process.
  • Assist the principal in implementing systems that support continuous instructional improvement.
  • Monitor student achievement data and support intervention strategies designed to accelerate student growth.
