Project Overview:

This position is in support of several major projects in execution in the US Gulf Coast region in Texas and Louisiana.

Job Summary:

Bechtel is seeking an Instructor for the Energy team, based in US. Position will be responsible for the Skills Verification Testing Program, Construction Craft Professional training, and Practical exams on the project. Primarily the verification and training of Craft skills include, but not limited to:
Pipe, Electrical, Instrumentation, Scaffolding, Millwright-Boilermaker, Carpentry, Concrete, Rebar, Structural Iron, and Rigging. Will provide training to Craft Professionals and provide input to Workforce Development programs and procedures. In this role, you will participate in project orientation and training preparation for workforce development. You may create documents and videos used in craft training, take attendance, perform trade testing, and assist with dispatch of employees when training is completed.

Major Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the Skill Verification, Competent to Operate program (CTO), and training Craft Professionals.

* Support of Craft Professional training programs at each Gulf Coast site and other project under Open Shop mode.

* Conduct NCCER Project specific training.

* Ensure that the training and assessments programs are consistent with NCCER.

* Provides training to all levels of helpers, journey, foreman and general foreman.

* Responsible for Craft Competency Compliance to ES&H Core Processes and Standard Work Practices and Procedures.

* Maintain good communication with the leaders of each trade associated with the project, to define needs and provide construction support with any specific training.

* Support recruitment when needed by interviewing potential Crafts applying for jobs with technical questions to ensure we hire Craft Professionals with the desired experience.

* Be able to share with Craft Professionals Bechtel's Vision, Values and Commitments (VV&C) mission.

* Maintain and update all craft training classroom materials. .

* Frequent site visits (70%+ travel) to assess and verify the progress of the skills taught in the training.

* Collaborate with community college faculty and administrators to ensure alignment between craft curriculum and the project site. Facilitate seamless transitions for students from academic settings to the project sites.

Education and Experience Requirements:

* Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience in leu of degree.

* Bilingual English/Spanish is required.

* NCCER Certified or Accredited in a Craft.

* Demonstrable work experience with ideally 10 years of experience in construction.

* Previous experience in supervision of staff, ensuring efficient operations and team performance.

* Experience in formal or informal teaching/training/instruction is preferable.

* NCCER Trainer certified is a plus

Required Knowledge and

Skills:

* To perform this role successfully, you will ideally have excellent communication skills, writing and time management skills, participate in the set up and maintenance of training facilities.

* Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).

* Experience of one or more trade discipline skill sets (Mechanical, Piping, Structural, Rigging, Electrical, Instrumentation etc.).

* Ability to communicate with external and internal Stakeholders

* Proven ability to work effectively with management, supervision, and team members to achieve organizational goals.
