Salary: Minimum $62,750 (2025‑2026 Pay Scale)

Primary
Purpose:
The Bilingual Elementary Teacher is responsible for implementing the District’s instructional program and educational philosophy in the designated grade level. All staff are expected to act with integrity, support organizational goals, communicate respectfully, and champion student needs.
- Required:
- • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
- • Valid Texas teaching certificate in assigned grade levels
- Preferred:
- • One year of student teaching or approved internship experience
- Knowledge of assigned subjects
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Teach according to staff assignment using effective practices.
- Develop and implement lesson plans with immediate and long‑range goals.
- Choose appropriate materials and activities; present subject matter clearly and interestingly.
- Coordinate planning with team members and librarian for library experiences.
- Administer the classroom to create a conducive learning environment and manage behavior.
- Maintain a positive, accepting attitude toward students.
- Cooperate with school personnel to support student welfare.
- Supervise student behavior and safety in class, between classes, and during school‑related activities on and off campus.
- Work with counselors, administrators, parents, and staff to place students in effective educational settings.
- Instruct students in safety and emergency procedures.
- Participate in special activities and programs for students and parents.
- Initiate communication with parents, informing them of programs, progress, and any issues.
- Maintain accurate records for evaluation, attendance, materials, funds, parent contacts, disciplinary measures, and referrals per district and state regulations.
- Exemplify professionalism, cooperation, and a positive attitude toward teaching.
- Promote understanding of district programs and policies.
- Remain current in education and specific instructional areas through literature, workshops, conferences, professional organizations, and courses.
- Adhere to the Texas Education Code of Ethics and support the district’s philosophy.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom or adaptive equipment.
