Directs and coordinates the academic advising activities of a college or major educational office.
ResponsibilitiesThis position works in the Office of Undergraduate Business Programs at the
C. T. Bauer College of Business. It engages with students to advise them on academic requirements for degree progress, course selection, policies, procedures, and resources based on an assessment of individual student needs.
Successful candidates will have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, work well under pressure, consistently meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects while remaining flexible and positive. This will require exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Job Requirements- Manage a high work volume with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Advise students for an undergraduate program.
- Process academic forms and letters for an undergraduate program.
- Process graduation applications for an undergraduate program.
- Plan and execute events for undergraduate students.
- Responsible for promoting Bauer majors and minors to Bauer undergraduate students, including:
- Advising Bauer students considering declaring a program as their major or minor.
- Managing promotion and administrative processes related to specialty programs and/or certificates.
- Participating in presentations to classes.
- Conducting presentations to student organizations.
- Being adaptable to change, as constant improvements are being made in advising.
- Experience in Higher Education.
- Experience directly in academic advising.
Education will be considered in lieu of experience. Bachelor’s degree is required.
