Position: Lower School Teacher (Third Grade)

Summary / Job Goals

To deliver high-quality elementary instruction that sets ambitious expectations and supports all learners in achieving strong academic outcomes. To create a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment that fosters intellectual curiosity, problem‑solving, and foundational skill development. The role supports the whole child by promoting academic, social, and emotional growth, aligned with the school’s vision of developing resilient and creative global citizens.

Qualifications

/ Training

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field preferred.

Valid teaching certification or equivalent training preferred.

Completion of student teaching through a university degree or teacher certification program.

Training in effective instructional methods.

Experience / Knowledge

At least one year of teaching experience preferred.

Demonstrates knowledge of elementary curriculum and effective instructional practices.

Understands child development and how to support both academic and social‑emotional growth.

Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

Experience using formative and summative assessments to guide instruction and measure progress.

Strong cross‑cultural, interpersonal, and communication skills to work with diverse communities.

Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.

Lower School Director and Assistant Director

Major Responsibilities and Duties

Deliver engaging lessons, assignments, and assessments aligned to the 1st grade curriculum.

Establish and maintain a structured, inclusive classroom environment with high expectations, clear routines, and mutual respect.

Support students’ emotional, social, and academic development.

Plan and implement coherent sequences of lessons that build knowledge, deepen understanding, and develop skills progressively.

Differentiate instruction using a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners.

Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress, adjust instruction, and provide meaningful feedback.

Maintain accurate records of student achievement and communicate progress effectively.

Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and ensure alignment across subject areas.

Foster student engagement through discussion, inquiry, reflection, and problem‑solving activities.

Communicate regularly with parents, building strong partnerships to support student success.

Contribute to a positive school culture by working collaboratively and professionally with staff and students.

Participate in ongoing professional development and apply best practices to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
