Position Overview

We are seeking a science educator who will:
Embrace and promote the Truth, Goodness, and Beauty of the Catholic faith in teaching and daily interactions. Teach science to students in grades 48 with academic excellence, integrating the Catholic intellectual tradition and classical pedagogy. Inspire wonder and curiosity about God's creation through engaging laboratory experiences, observation, experimentation, and scientific inquiry. Help students recognize the harmony between faith and reason, encouraging them to view the study of the natural world as a means of growing in awe of the Creator.

Foster a disciplined, joyful classroom environment rooted in virtue, respect, and authentic relationships. Collaborate with colleagues and administration to strengthen the Catholic classical identity of the school and support interdisciplinary learning.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:
Hold a bachelor's degree in Science, Science Education, Elementary Education, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred. Possess a valid teaching certification or be eligible to obtain certification. Have familiarity with Catholic classical education or demonstrate a willingness to learn and embrace the classical model. Demonstrate fidelity to the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church and actively live as a witness to Christ (practicing Catholic preferred).

Exhibit strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills, along with a commitment to ongoing professional and spiritual formation. Have or be willing to obtain Safe Haven Training. Have or be willing to obtain Catechist Certificate or Certification.

Desired Skills and Expertise

Applicants with the following background are highly desired: A strong foundation in life science, earth science, physical science, and introductory laboratory practices appropriate for grades 48. The ability to cultivate wonder by helping students recognize the order, beauty, and intelligibility of creation as reflections of God's wisdom. Experience designing engaging, hands-on laboratory investigations and inquiry-based learning experiences. Familiarity with the integration of science across disciplines, particularly history, mathematics, and the Catholic intellectual tradition.
