Corporate Trainer – Leadership, Management, Supervisory
We are currently seeking a Corporate Trainer, Leadership / Management / Supervisory Training, who will advance the institution’s proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.
The OpportunityYou’re an innovative instructor who’s comfortable in either classroom or corporate settings.
HCC’s Corporate College is responsive to community needs and drives local economic development. A chief component is providing customized business/industry instruction with on‑site workforce training. Classes can be scheduled during the day, at night or on the weekend; at the client’s worksite, online or at one of our world‑class facilities.
Your mission: provide soft‑skills training to corporate clients on an on‑call basis, especially in leadership, management, supervisory skills, diversity, and other HR issues.
Your work: assess the client’s business training needs, develop and deliver the training in one‑ to three‑day classroom formats using texts, handouts, class exercises and assessment tools. Continuously improve instruction, update and revise course content and methodology to maintain relevance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide training and/or consulting to corporate clients as needed.
- Assess training needs for clients in conjunction with Corporate College staff.
- Customize training content and format to fit client objectives.
- Deliver training in 1‑day to 3‑day classroom formats, using relevant materials such as texts, handouts, class exercises, or assessment tools.
- Continue to update and revise course content and teaching methodology to maintain currency and relevance.
- Maintain familiarity with current texts, materials, teaching aids and techniques and recommend adoption when appropriate.
- Actively seek ways to improve instruction.
- Attend scheduled meetings with client and Corporate College as requested, including adjunct faculty orientation.
- Maintain accurate records, including class schedules, student rosters, attendance and grade rosters; strict observance of these procedures is required for ongoing consideration of other assignments.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a specialized area. Level 1 – Certifications in courses (Leadership, Customer Service, etc.) preferred. Non‑certified candidates must be willing to be trained/certified upon employment. - Experience:
Minimum three (3) years of corporate training or subject‑related industry/technical experience required. Up to 3 years of experience working in HCC, conducting corporate training, preferred. Community college or university teaching experience highly desired. - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge and experience in management, human resources, curriculum development, learning theory, leadership theories, current developments in related fields; ability to use current technology; ability to present innovative ideas for new curriculum and programs; excellent presentation and communication skills; ability to customize training content; proficiency in both oral and written communication; ability to meet deadlines for reports; comfortable training in a corporate environment.
