Mission

The mission of the Beta Academy SPED Coordinator is to serve as the campus leader for Special Education services, compliance, and scholar support systems while ensuring scholars with disabilities receive rigorous instruction, individualized support, and equitable access to academic success. The SPED Coordinator cultivates a culture of joyful rigor, inclusion, accountability, and excellence while partnering with campus leadership, teachers, and families to develop scholars who can contribute on a community, national, and international level.

* This position is designated as essential personnel and may be required to report to work or remain available during emergencies, campus closures, or other critical situations.

  • (K-5) 70% of scholars achieve Meets or above on benchmarks and state tests
  • (K-5) 30% of scholars achieve Masters on benchmarks and state tests
  • (6-8) 70% of scholars achieve Meets or above on benchmarks and state tests
  • (6-8) 35% of scholars achieve Masters on benchmarks and state tests
  • (9-12) 75% of scholars achieve Meets or above on benchmarks and state tests
  • (9-12) 35% of scholars achieve Masters on benchmarks and state tests
Compliance & Program Management
  • 100% of IEPs completed 72 hours prior to the ARD meeting
  • 100% of Transfer, Brief, Reevaluation, and Annual ARDs conducted within required timelines
  • 100% of Initial Evaluations completed within required timelines
  • 100% compliance with Child Find requirements
  • 100% audit readiness throughout the school year
  • 100% of identified scholars serviced according to IEP requirements
  • 100% of gradebook audit is completed to ensure accommodations are documented
  • 100% of service logs and required documentation completed weekly
  • 100% of work samples collected within required timelines
  • 100% of progress reports completed within required timelines
  • 100% of State Performance Plan is updated within the timelines
  • 100% participation in LPAC meetings for dually identified scholars
  • 100% implementation of accommodations and IEP services with fidelity
  • Progress monitoring systems implemented consistently for all identified scholars

Job Responsibilities
Campus Leadership & Accountability
  • Serves as the campus point person for Special Education services, compliance, and scholar support systems.
  • Participates in campus leadership meetings, scholar success meetings, intervention meetings, and instructional planning systems.
  • Partners with the Principal, Dean of Academics, Dean of Scholars, teachers, and support staff to ensure scholar success.
  • Maintains visibility throughout the school day across classrooms, intervention spaces, parent meetings, and campus events.
  • Serves as an administrator during parent nights, ARDs, family engagement events, and scholar support meetings.
  • Coordinates and supports the scheduling, administration, and implementation of district and state assessment programs, including NWEA MAP, Accelerated Reader (AR), STAAR, TELPAS, and other required assessments, ensuring testing accommodations and compliance requirements are implemented with fidelity.
  • Provide lunch supervision as assigned.
  • Supports school wide systems, culture initiatives, testing operations, transitions, and scholar supervision as needed.
