Wage: $62,750
Position Type: Full-Time
Primary PurposeThe Middle School Teacher is responsible for implementing the District instructional program and educational philosophy in the subject area or grade level designated in accordance with District goals, policies and procedures.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship (Preferred)
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze student performance data
- Knowledge of lesson design qualities
- Knowledge of Professional Learning Communities
- Willingness to work in small learning communities
- Teach in accordance with staff and district expectations
- Design and implement effective lesson plans with immediate and long‑range goals, ensuring authentic student engagement and real‑world relevance
- Use instructional technology to support and enhance learning
- Assess student learning using formative and summative assessment and analyze the data to inform instruction
- Plan and implement classroom management strategies that promote a positive learning environment
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, counselors, and parents to support student academic and personal growth
- Participate in professional learning communities, curriculum planning, and interdisciplinary teams to integrate curriculum and relevance
- Administer classroom duties including maintaining accurate attendance and academic records, managing textbook and material inventories, and ensuring a safe learning environment
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress, behavior, and attendance
- Support school initiatives, including co‑curricular activities, safety drills, and special programs
- Adhere to the Texas Education Code of Ethics and all District, state, and campus policies
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the principal or district office
The position requires standing, prolonged sitting, and some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling. The teacher will also travel within the district and statewide. Mental demands include problem solving, data interpretation, policy application, and effective communication.
