Primary PurposeAssist teachers, both SPED and GEN ED, and students who require special education services in the special education and general education settings.
Qualifications / Education / Certification- Minimum 48 college hours or high school diploma/equivalent plus pass a District Assessment.
- Educational Aide Certification.
- Ability to work with children using appropriate interpersonal skills.
- Background related to working with children and parents.
- Physical capacity to lift, transfer and otherwise assist students with physical disabilities (e.g., ability to lift 50 lbs.).
- Fluent in English (speaking and writing).
- Knowledge regarding Autism and/or behavior preferred.
- Bus driver training as needed, or as required.
- Adhere to Texas Education Agency and district policies and procedures.
- Assist in carrying out the instructional program under the supervision of the teaching personnel.
- Follow teacher instruction and guidance.
- Assist with teacher planned activities, exercises and drills.
- Assist in maintaining student records.
- Participate in planned in‑service and professional growth activities related to special education and other topics.
- Perform other duties as required.

- Work with frequent interruptions.
- This position requires regular in‑person interaction with the public.
- Repetitive hand motions.

- Frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling.
- Moving small stacks of textbooks, boxes, equipment and other campus equipment.
