Description:

Manages the day-to-day operations of a small or medium-sizeduniversity program or department. May supervise staff employees,student workers, programs or processes.

Plans and develops procedures for administering a small ormedium-sized department or program.

Oversees program expenditures and ensures adherence tobudget.

Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluatesperformance.

May prepare or participate in the creation of abstracts,research reports, funding proposals, operations and procedure manuals, and other written material and documentation.

Reviews reports of budgets and activities.

Prepares ad hoc reports as needed.

May administer grants and grant-related related communications,scholarships and other operations.

Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies and procedures.

May serve as property custodian for the department.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of related professional experience.
- One (1) year of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- * Student recruitment
- * Admissions
- * Academic advising
- * Academic program management
- * Student services or other related experience in higher education
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, with the ability to travel for recruitment events, high school visits,college fairs, and other outreach activities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience planning and coordinating events in higher educationor the hospitality industry.
- Experience advising prospective, transfer, or current collegestudents.
- Experience with undergraduate student recruitment and outreach.
- Experience presenting to groups or conducting information sessions.
- Experience using a CRM system (e.g., Slate) or other student information systems.
- Bilingual (Spanish preferred).

Requires a thorough understanding of boththeoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than oneprofessional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normallyobtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree froma college or university or an equivalent in-depth specializedtraining program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
