Description:

Manages the day-to-day operations of a small or medium-sizeduniversity program or department. May supervise staff employees,student workers, programs or processes.

  • Plans and develops procedures for administering a small ormedium-sized department or program.
  • Oversees program expenditures and ensures adherence tobudget.
  • Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluatesperformance.
  • May prepare or participate in the creation of abstracts,research reports, funding proposals, operations and procedure manuals, and other written material and documentation.
  • Reviews reports of budgets and activities.
  • Prepares ad hoc reports as needed.
  • May administer grants and grant-related related communications,scholarships and other operations.
  • Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies and procedures.
  • May serve as property custodian for the department.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • - Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of related professional experience.
    • - One (1) year of experience in one or more of the following areas:
      • * Student recruitment
      • * Admissions
      • * Academic advising
      • * Academic program management
      • * Student services or other related experience in higher education
    • - Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, with the ability to travel for recruitment events, high school visits,college fairs, and other outreach activities.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • - Experience planning and coordinating events in higher educationor the hospitality industry.
    • - Experience advising prospective, transfer, or current collegestudents.
    • - Experience with undergraduate student recruitment and outreach.
    • - Experience presenting to groups or conducting information sessions.
    • - Experience using a CRM system (e.g., Slate) or other student information systems.
    • - Bilingual (Spanish preferred).

    MQ:

    Education:

    Requires a thorough understanding of boththeoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than oneprofessional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normallyobtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree froma college or university or an equivalent in-depth specializedtraining program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
