Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and engaging High School Biology Interventionist to provide targeted academic support to students who need additional assistance mastering Biology concepts. The ideal candidate is passionate about science education, skilled at building student confidence, and committed to helping students achieve academic success through small-group and individualized instruction.

Responsibilities

* Provide intervention and academic support to high school students in Biology.

* Deliver small-group and one-on-one instruction aligned with state Biology standards.

* Reinforce classroom instruction through targeted lessons, review activities, and hands-on learning experiences.

* Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies based on individual needs.

* Collaborate with Biology teachers and campus staff to identify learning gaps and support student achievement.

* Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and intervention outcomes.

* Foster a positive, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment.

* Assist students in preparing for classroom assessments and state Biology exams.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Biology, Science Education, or a related field required.

* Valid teaching certification preferred but not required (depending on district requirements).

* Previous experience teaching or tutoring high school Biology preferred.

* Strong understanding of high school Biology curriculum and instructional best practices.

* Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

* Ability to motivate and engage diverse learners.

Preferred Skills

* Experience working with students requiring academic intervention.

* Knowledge of differentiated instruction and data-driven teaching strategies.

* Ability to simplify complex scientific concepts for struggling learners.
