Job Description Summary

Under general supervision, comprehensive accommodationservice-related services are provided to students with disabilities. Conduct psychosocial educational workshops for program participants and the University community. Assures University compliance with applicable federal, state, and locallaws and regulations.

Essential Duties Summary
  • Collect and analyze disability verification records, certifystudent’s eligibility for services, and determine reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities per the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
  • Facilitate the provision of support services, i.e., auxiliaryaids, assistive equipment, academic support tutorials, etc.
  • Provide psychosocial education and coaching assessment services to support student situational concerns that impact academic success and measure intervention strategic plan outcomes.
  • Provide consultations, presentations, and workshops for faculty, staff, and students on disability laws and regulations that promote an inclusive, diverse, equitable, and accessiblelearning environment.
  • Coordinate exam proctoring administrative processes and services.
  • Manage a service caseload and provide ongoing case management.

    Monitor accommodations, academic needs, student progress, and academic standings.
  • Maintain electronic confidential files and service records.

    Generate monthly service reports that support statistical data for program operations.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of campus supportiveresources and cultivate internal and external professionalpartnerships that support student academic performance.
  • Maintain awareness of best practices, emerging trends, and new legislation relevant to counseling and disability support services.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
Employment Details

Percent FTE: 1.0

Hiring Range: $59,442.00-$75,788.56

Education

Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, and/or Rehabilitation Counseling from an accredited college or university.

Required Licensing/Certification

Professional certification or license is preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of:
  • Disability related 504 and ADA federal and statelegislations.
  • Academia policies and practices related to persons with disabilities.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of diverse cultures, ethnicities, and disabilities.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Microsoft Office applications or similar computerfunctions.
Skills in:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Solution-focused with sound decision-making strategies.
  • Planning and leading activities/projects.

Work Experience

Minimum three to five years of related work experience in an academic disability and/or counseling support service environment.

Working/Environmental Conditions
  • Work is performed in an interior business work environment.
  • Outreach activities may be performed in an external campuslocation.
  • Minimal exposure to physical risks with limited standing,walking, bending, lifting, and/or carrying equipment.
