College, Career & Military Readiness Advisor(CCMR)-Champions CP

JOB ROLES:

Assist campus Assistant Principal of CCMR to provide support for addressing student achievement and overall school effectiveness in college, career and military readiness.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

* Minimum 2 years teaching experience

* Master's Degree in guidance counseling is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND

SKILLS:

* Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the campus.

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.

* Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone.

* Ability to use effective interview techniques, effective public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Guide students through the development of career awareness and educational planning.

* Assist students in course selection and graduation plan

* Promotes community understanding through professional concern for all students as well as demonstrating an interest in school and community activities.

* Participates in, coordinates and conducts activities that contribute to the effective operation of the college counseling program and school.

* Counsels with students individually or in groups.

* Assists students, staff and parents in making use of college, career and military readiness

* Coordinate school college trips.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Light Work: may require occasional light lifting.

* Position is in an office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location.

* Moderate travel is required.
