TENURE TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF AVIATION SCIENCE MANAGEMENT
The College of Science Engineering and Technology at Texas Southern University is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Aviation Science Management, who is competent in instructing students with an active research agenda. The ideal candidate will possess a terminal degree (Ph.D.) with an emphasis in Aviation Management, from a regionally accredited university, or the appropriate industry experience as outlined below.
This is a 9-month tenure track position with teaching responsibilities at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
Essential duties include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Aviation Science, conducting research that is presentable at professional academic conferences and acceptable for publication in referred academic journals, active participation in departmental, school and university committees, service to one's profession and the surrounding community, advising and mentoring students, and other job-related duties as assigned.
The hiring range is $57,600.00 - $74,880.00. Education required is a Ph.D. in Aviation Management/Related Field from a regionally accredited university or an Aviation Degree with a minimum of fifteen years of aviation industry experience. Pilot certifications are preferred. Knowledge of policies, procedures, and practices, knowledge and proficiency in Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), detail-oriented, effective customer service, problem-solving and decision-making, multitasking and time management, both verbal and written communication, and work with a diverse student population are also required.
