Success Coach

Under general supervision the Academic Coach will work closely with students to foster the development of skills, behaviors, and habits that contribute to academic success. This role involves providing individualized support to help students overcome academic challenges and achieve their educational goals.

Distinguishing characteristics include strong coaching, instructional methodology, effective organizational skills, strong mentorship, and time management with a student-centered approach.

Essential duties include individualized coaching, skill development, monitoring progress, referral and collaboration, data collection and analysis, documentation and reporting, and program development.

Position details include a security sensitive position, hours of work from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday to Friday, a posting number of TSU
203476, and an official TSU title of Success Coach.

The hiring range is $45,486.69 - $57,995.53, and a bachelor's degree is required. A valid Texas Driver's License is preferred.

Knowledge of policies, procedures, practices, and equipment, Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications, problem-solving and decision-making, multitasking and time management, both verbal and written communication, preparing detailed reports, and the ability to work independently are required.

Three to five years of related experience, preferably working with students in an academic setting, teaching experience, and experience working with individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds are preferred.

Prolonged standing and/or walking, handling light weight objects, and using or carrying equipment are part of the working/environmental conditions.
