Career & Life Skills Coaching
On-site position in Houston, TX — campuses in Central Houston, South Houston, or The Woodlands (relocation assistance available). $100,000 annual compensation, distributed weekly. Full health, dental, and vision coverage begins day one.
The greatest support you can offer a child who reaches 99% of their target is to make it clear that the work isn't finished. If that expectation feels uncomfortable, this position is not the right fit. If it energizes you—because you understand that maintaining high standards demonstrates your belief in a student's capability—read on.
Alpha operates differently from conventional schools. Students complete a full academic day in roughly two hours using adaptive technology. No classroom lectures. No printed textbooks.
Your role centers on what technology cannot replicate: guiding Pre‑K through 8th grade students in developing life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback exchange. You'll spend half your time facilitating hands‑on workshops built around structured frameworks and narrative techniques. The remainder is dedicated to individual and small‑group sessions where you assess student performance in adaptive platforms via Coachbot analytics and challenge them to achieve 100% of their weekly objectives.
Mastery is validated through Test2
Pass evaluations, not effort‑based grading.
During your first year, you'll guide a dedicated student cohort and become proficient in Alpha's methodology: life skills facilitation, motivational coaching, and mastery‑driven assessment. Once you consistently help every student reach 100% goal completion while maintaining satisfaction scores above 90%, advancement to Lead Guide becomes possible. In that capacity, you'll mentor fellow Guides while maintaining direct student contact. The most effective individuals in this role don't merely influence students—they define campus culture.
If you have years of experience coaching, counseling, or mentoring young people and have longed to move beyond traditional instruction to focus purely on developmental growth, this opportunity is designed for you.
What You Will Be Doing- Facilitating one‑hour life skills workshops for Pre‑K through 8th grade students covering public speaking, focus, teamwork, and feedback exchange (project‑based and interactive)
- Conducting daily individual and small‑group coaching sessions to review student advancement in adaptive learning platforms (via Coachbot analytics), establish objectives, and challenge students to reach 100% of weekly benchmarks
- Overseeing and assessing Test2
Pass evaluations to verify genuine mastery of each life skill rather than simple attendance - Adjusting your approach across diverse age groups, from Pre‑K learners requiring energetic, kinesthetic engagement to 8th graders needing direct conversation and personal accountability
- Cultivating authentic connections with every student so they trust you sufficiently to accept guidance through obstacles, distractions, and internal doubt
- Delivering lectures or conventional subject‑matter instruction (core academics are learned through adaptive technology, not direct teaching)
- Creating lesson plans or original curriculum (Alpha supplies life skills frameworks; your responsibility is to animate them with enthusiasm and narrative)
- Handling parent communication or administrative duties (Campus Leads manage those areas; you concentrate on student development)
- Evaluating homework or preparing students for standardized exams (these elements are not part of our model)
- Operating independently (you collaborate within a campus team including Lead Guides, Campus Leads, and colleagues who exchange feedback and maintain mutual accountability)
Key Responsibilities
Guarantee that every student in your cohort develops a love for learning, achieves mastery in critical life skills, and completes 100% of their academic objectives through adaptive learning platforms.
