The CSE Program Manager is responsible for developing and coordinating initiatives that support the retention, persistence, engagement, and graduation of first-generation students and other vulnerable student populations. The position works collaboratively with CSE leadership and campus partners to strengthen student success and reduce barriers to degree completion.
Key responsibilities include:- Develop, implement, and assess programs, workshops, events, and outreach initiatives with a primary emphasis on first-generation student success and support for other vulnerable student populations.
- Coordinate signature First-Generation initiatives, including First-Generation Week and other engagement and recognition programs.
- Provide advising, guidance, referrals, and resource connections to help students navigate institutional, academic, financial, and personal barriers.
- Support the First-Generation Committee and collaborate with campus partners to strengthen university-wide first-generation efforts.
- Develop strategies to increase student engagement, retention, persistence, and progress toward graduation.
- Track participation and student-success outcomes and assist with assessment and reporting.
- Support mentoring, leadership development, financial empowerment, academic success, and other CSE initiatives.
- Maintain knowledge of emerging practices related to first-generation and vulnerable student success.
- Support additional CSE programs and departmental priorities as assigned.
