Essential Functions

Strategic Discipleship Pathway.Develop, implement, and evaluate a multi-year discipleship strategy for Next Gen Ministry that maps a clear, seamless pathway of spiritual growth from birth through college — tying weekly programming in Sagemont Kids, Sagemont Students, and SagemontU to the church's overall mission.

Whole-Church Alignment.Ensure Sagemont Kids, Sagemont Students, and SagemontU function as one integrated pathway rather than three silos, and actively partner with Worship, Connect Groups, Iglesia Sagemont, and other church ministries so Next Gen strategy strengthens the whole body, not just its own department.

Leader Development.Recruit, coach, and multiply next-gen staff and key lay leaders through the Sagemont Leadership Pipeline, building a growing bench of future ministry leaders.

Ministry Systems.Build durable systems for onboarding, volunteer development, and transition points (preschool to kids, kids to students, students to college) to enhance ministry health and continuity.

Family Discipleship.Champion a churchwide strategy that equips and encourages parents to become the primary disciple-makers of their family, resourcing them as partners.

Ministry Health Metrics.Establish and regularly report meaningful health indicators for Next Gen Ministry — salvations, baptisms, leader multiplication, family engagement, and retention at each transition point.

Calendar & Budget Stewardship.Oversee the annual Next Gen Ministry calendar in alignment with the overall church calendar, and develop and steward the annual Next Gen Ministry budget with wise, accountable use of church resources.

Courageous Leadership.Address relational and philosophical tension among staff, parents, and volunteers directly and biblically, leading through conflict to protect the long-term health and unity of Next Gen Ministry.

Pastoral Care.Provide pastoral care, counseling, and crisis support to Next Gen families and staff as appropriate.

Safety and Protection. Enforce a culture of protection, ensuring all Next Gen ministries fully comply with Sagemont’s safety policies, background checks, and reporting protocols.
