Contract: None
Primary PurposeServe as a liaison between the school and parents, assisting teachers in bridging the gap to involve parents more in their child's education, including seeking parent education and support in coordination with the counselor and CIS worker and seeking parent education and support for needs as identified by the staff.
Qualifications / Skills- Education / Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Special Knowledge / Skills
- Basic knowledge of MS Word.
- Ability to use personal computer and software.
- Effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
- Experience
- Minimum two (2) years parent liaison experience required.
- Experience as a Teacher Assistant preferred.
- Communication Support
- Serve as a support for teachers in reaching out to and involving parents in their child's education.
- Promote family involvement. Conduct home visitations.
- Serve as a liaison between public/private agencies.
- Clerical Support
- Assist school counselor and CIS workers in supporting students and families.
- Coordinate Volunteer Registration and log volunteer hours.
- Other
- Connect parents to community resources. Distribute School supplies/School uniforms.
- Participate in Thanksgiving and Christmas food drives.
- Explore opportunities for community partnerships.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Maintain emotional control under stress.
- Work with frequent interruptions.
- This position requires regular in-person interaction with the public.

- Repetitive hand motions.
- Prolonged use of the computer.
- Frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling.
- Moving small stacks of textbooks, boxes, equipment and other campus equipment.
