PRIMARY PURPOSE
:
The Instructional Specialist designs, delivers, and evaluates sustained, job-embedded professional learning for teachers and instructional leaders to support effective implementation of district curriculum, high-quality instructional materials, and evidence-based instructional practices. The Specialist develops curriculum-aligned slide decks, model lessons, facilitator resources, and implementation supports as part of the district’s professional learning, PLC, coaching, and instructional support systems.
In the High School (9-12) English Language Arts & Reading content area, the Specialist provides direct, ongoing instructional coaching to campus teachers and leaders — including co-planning, modeling, classroom observation, and actionable feedback — to build teacher capacity, strengthen instructional practice, and advance student achievement. This position is funded in whole or in part through Title II, Part A and is dedicated to activities that prepare, train, and support teachers and principals, consistent with the requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Curriculum writing experience
