Academic Advisor II - Pharmacy

University of Houston is hiring an Academic Advisor for the Dean of Pharmacy. The advisor provides comprehensive academic guidance to a diverse student body, manages complex cases, and supports initiatives that promote student success while collaborating with faculty and other departments.

• Advise students on academic planning, degree completion, and academic progress issues.
• Analyze degree audits and develop solutions for identified concerns.
• Identify at-risk students and create intervention plans to support their retention.
• Participate in recruitment efforts, advising workshops, and outreach activities.
• Collaborate closely with faculty and departments regarding student-related matters.
• Maintain a caseload of students and track advising outcomes effectively.
• Process Veteran’s Administration documentation, write graduation verification letters, and assist with financial aid appeals.
• May support recruitment of high school and community college students and make presentations at events.
• Requires a 4-year degree or equivalent specialized training and at least one year of directly related experience, with flexibility to substitute experience for education and vice versa.
• Salary range: $43,000 - $48,900.
