Lecturer - Mathematics; teachHOUSTON

The University of Houston is hiring a Lecturer for its Department of Mathematics to join the teach HOUSTON program starting Fall 2026. The role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, mentoring preservice STEM teachers in field settings, developing curriculum, assisting with recruitment, and fostering partnerships with school districts and STEM organizations.

• Teach a full load of undergraduate and graduate courses in the teach HOUSTON program.
• Supervise and mentor preservice teachers during field experiences, including securing school placements and classroom observations.
• Contribute to curriculum development, program improvement, and assessment activities.
• Design and facilitate professional learning for preservice teachers, beginning teachers, and practicing educators.
• Build and maintain partnerships with school districts, community organizations, and STEM stakeholders.
• Support STEM outreach initiatives and externally funded projects.
• Ph.D. required in STEM Education, Mathematics Education, Science Education, Engineering Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or related fields.
• Experience teaching inquiry-based STEM lessons in public schools and mentoring teachers.
• Preferred experience includes supervising preservice teachers, working with K-12 districts, integrating instructional technology or AI, and grant-funded projects.
• Salary commensurate with experience.
