Music Teacher

Music & Arts seeks a passionate Music Teacher to provide high-quality private and small-group lessons in our busy retail lesson studio. In this on-site role, you'll teach beginner to intermediate students, create tailored lesson plans, and help prepare them for school performances, auditions, and recitals. You'll collaborate with store staff to recommend instruments, rentals, and accessories, communicate regularly with parents and educators, and support store events that promote music education.

This position is ideal for an experienced musician-educator who loves teaching and wants to impact local school and community music programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group music lessons for beginner to intermediate students
• Develop lesson plans that align with student goals and school/ensemble needs
• Assess student skill levels and track progress through regular feedback and evaluations
• Prepare students for school performances, auditions, and recitals
• Collaborate with store sales staff to recommend appropriate instruments, rentals, and accessories
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment in the lesson studio
• Communicate with parents, students, and educators about goals, schedules, and progress
• Support store events, workshops, and community outreach focused on music education
• Follow store policies, scheduling procedures, and lesson documentation requirements
• Care for instruments and classroom equipment, ensuring proper setup before lessons
