Job Goal: Provide professional development and services, develop products, and participate in special project activities in area of Student Evaluation responsibility that support the ESC’s core purpose and strategic goals.
QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor’s degree
- Master’s degree (in psycho educational or psychological related field)
Certification/Licensure
- TSBEP Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) or
- SBEC Certified Educational Diagnostician
Experience
- Five years district-wide experience in Student Evaluation as related to special education, i.e. Department Head/Team Leader, Coordinator
- Experience in developing and presenting professional development
- Experience leading collaborative multidisciplinary teams
- Experience providing instructional coaching
Special Knowledge and Skills
- Exemplary written and oral communication skills
- Experience in gathering and reviewing data related to identification of students with disabilities under special education law
- Experience in developing Individualized Educational Programs based on data
- Broad-based knowledge in rules and regulations related to special education
Major Responsibilities
- Participate and provides team leadership in developing, planning, implementing, and evaluating related services professional development, products, and services for clients.
- Provide assistance in activities related to compliance with state and federal laws and State Board of Education rules and regulations.
- Participate in developing, planning, and implementing programs to meet the needs of diverse populations of students.
- Help plan and implement ongoing needs assessment systems for client programs and Region 4 services.
- Participate in developing communication networks between the service center and client personnel.
- Help monitor the effectiveness of department activities in the region and provides leadership in evaluating those activities.
- Assist in planning and developing special project activities, i.e. grant proposals, interdepartmental services, demonstration sites, research studies, and other client- based projects.
- Assist in facilitating interagency coordination.
- Provide technical assistance and services as specified by any applicable federal grant that funds this position.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors/ Mental Demands: Frequent use of standard office equipment; prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; repetitive hand motions (keyboarding and use of mouse); occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 20 pounds); may work prolonged and irregular hours; occasional statewide travel; work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under pressure.

Salary: $89,501 to $107,187 Per Year
