Position Summary

This is a full-time, faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, beginning in the Fall of 2027 or later. The position offers a unique opportunity to provide leadership in building a new, innovative mechanical engineering program and the prominence of the College of Science and Engineering and of the University.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project-based fundamental and advanced courses.
  • Design and teach courses and labs in mechanical engineering.
  • Engage in student advising, student organization mentoring, assessment and accreditation activities, and committee responsibilities.
  • Participate in professional development of students and maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should have completed a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience developing and teaching project-based curricula.
  • Knowledge of the current practices and research pertaining to innovative undergraduate curricula.
  • Commitment to quality teaching in a Christian university.

The College of Science and Engineering at HCU

The vision of the College of Science and Engineering (COSE) at HCU is to be a world leader in integrating fundamental principles of science, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) with historic Christian values and standards to serve God and humanity. In addition to current B.S. programs in Cyber Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and Information Systems, HCU will expand its offerings to include Mechanical Engineering and Artificial Intelligence.
