Primary PurposeAssist the teacher(s) in the implementation of the Bilingual/ESL programs.
Qualifications and Skills Education/Certification- Minimum of 48 college hours or high school diploma/equivalent plus pass a District Assessment.
- Educational Aide Certification.
- Ability to work with children.
- Ability to work and communicate with children and adults effectively.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
- Adhere to TEA and the district's policies and procedures.
- Assist in carrying out the instructional program.
- Prepare and organize instructional materials and equipment.
- Assist in proper classroom management and implement daily schedule.
- Assist in record keeping and clerical duties.
- Assist teachers in the computer lab.
- Assist in communicating with parents (may include translations).
- Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce skills and concepts.
- Assist with testing of students for program purposes.
- Perform related duties as required.
