Job Description Summary / TWC Summary

The Dual Enrollment Academic Advisor provides proactive academic advising, case management, enrollment support, and college-readiness guidance to prospective, new, and continuing dual enrollment students, The advisor manages an assigned caseload and collaborates with students, families, high school partners, faculty, University departments, and community partners to support students from application and registration through academic progress, completion, and transition to Texas Southern University, another postsecondary institution, or the workforce.

• Provide individual and group advice on educational and career planning, course selection, degree pathways, and transfer options.
• Manage an assigned caseload; monitor enrollment, attendance, academic progress, persistence, and completion using University systems; and document advising contacts and outcomes,
• Respond to early alerts and academic concerns, coordinate interventions, and refer students to tutoring, testing, accessibility, counseling, and other support services,
• Assist students with application, onboarding, college-readiness requirements, orientation, registration, and enrollment
• Explain University policies and procedures, including FERPA , registration changes, withdrawal, repeated coursework, academic standing, transcripts, and degree requirements; teach students to navigate University systems and resources independently.
• Serve as a liaison to assigned high schools and districts, providing accurate information on requirements, timelines, services, and student progress as appropriate,
• Conduct high school visits, advising and registration events, orientations, parent/family sessions, workshops, and other dual enrollment activities,
• Assist graduating students with transition to Texas Southern University or other postsecondary institutions.
• Support dual enrollment recruitment, retention, completion, student communications, reporting, assessment, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain current knowledge of TSU programs, policies, dual enrollment requirements, and student services; complete required training and professional development.
• Perform other duties and assignments as required.

Hiring Range

Hiring Range $45,486.69-$57,995.53

• Master’s degree in higher education four-year College or university or equivalent, education, counseling, student affairs, educational leadership, or a related field . Proof of enrollment in a master’s Program may suffice.

Required Licensing/Certification

Valid driver’s license required.
