Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Plan study programs tailored to individual student needs, interests, and abilities.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity and interests.
• Prepare lessons accommodating individual differences and show evidence of preparation when requested.
• Encourage students to maintain classroom behavior standards.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals with clear objectives communicated to students.
• Use varied instructional techniques and media suited to student needs and classroom limitations.
• Implement the district’s educational philosophy and instructional goals through teaching and actions.
• Regularly assess student accomplishments and provide progress reports.
• Refer students for evaluation by district specialists as needed.
• Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities by taking necessary precautions.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and district policies.
• Assist administration in enforcing policies and rules governing student conduct and maintain classroom order fairly.
• Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes when required.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides and volunteers, and evaluate their performance with department heads.
• Maintain and improve professional competence through participation in staff development.
• Attend staff meetings and serve on committees.
• Maintain professional relationships with colleagues and open communication with students, parents, and community members.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

The company is looking for:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Texas Teacher Certificate appropriate for the level and/or subject area of assignment.
• Effective written and oral communication skills with all management levels, internal and external to the district.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both inside and outside the district.
• Physical ability to focus vision, judge distances, reach, manipulate a keyboard, lift up to 10 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, twist, bend, climb, and be mobile.
• Ability to travel throughout the district and city using private or public transportation; if driving a personal vehicle, must have a valid driver’s license and appropriate insurance coverage.

• Annual salary of $64,000.00.
