Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Plan study programs tailored to meet individual student needs, interests, and abilities.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity and interests.
• Prepare lessons accommodating individual differences and provide written evidence of preparation when requested.
• Encourage students to maintain classroom behavior standards and guide learning toward curriculum goals with clear objectives.
• Use varied instructional techniques and media suited to physical settings and student capabilities.
• Implement the district’s educational philosophy and instructional goals through teaching and actions.
• Regularly assess student accomplishments and provide progress reports as required.
• Refer students for evaluation by district specialists when necessary.
• Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities by taking necessary precautions.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law, district policy, and regulations.
• Assist administration in enforcing policies and rules governing student conduct and develop classroom behavior rules.
• Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes as needed.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides and volunteers, and evaluate their performance with department heads.
• Maintain and improve professional competence and participate in district staff development.
• Attend staff meetings, serve on committees, and maintain professional relationships with colleagues.
• Establish and maintain open communication with students, parents, and community members.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

The company is looking for:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Texas Teacher Certificate appropriate for the level and/or subject area of assignment.
• Effective written and oral communication skills with all levels of management, internal and external to the district.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both inside and outside the district.
• Physical abilities including focusing vision, judging distances, reaching, manipulating a keyboard, lifting up to 10 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, walking, twisting, bending, climbing, and mobility.
• Ability to travel throughout the district and city using private or public transportation; if driving a personal vehicle, must have a valid driver’s license and appropriate insurance coverage.
