Thermal Spray Operator

A vacancy has arisen for a Thermal Spray Operator based in Kirkhill, Dyce as part of our Advanced Remanufacturing Business. The successful candidate will carry out Plasma, HVOF, Flame spray & Thermal Spraying components of all engine types.

• Plasma, HVOF, Flame spray & Thermal Spraying components of all engine types
• Basic Preventative Maintenance of machines prior to use and reporting faults/defect to Supervision
• To provide on the job technical training as required
• To ensure that the correct standards of material handling are observed at all times
• Plan and organise each task given to ensure that it complies with QHS&E company procedures / guidelines and gets completed in a timely manner
• Ensure correct procedures and documentation are used at all times
• Provide regular feedback to Supervisor on progress of each task and elevate any issues that may impact on agreed turn times
• Maintain good housekeeping in work areas and perform other related or comparable duties as assigned (5’s)
• Ensure consumable levels are well stocked and inform Supervision when consumables require re-ordering
• Comply with Company QHS&E and operational procedures

• Several years’ experience in Plasma, HVOF, Flame spray & experience in a Thermal Spray environment is desirable.
• Knowledge of Gas Turbine or Aero Engine repairs & overhaul procedures
• Ability to translate technical requirements into operational instructions
• Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work well within a team environment
• Good organisational & planning skills
• Excellent attention to detail
