About the Role
S&P Global Energy is seeking a reporter to cover the energy transition in North America, focusing on carbon markets, electrification and other emerging developments. The position also involves coverage of power markets in the United States and Canada.
Responsibilities and Impact- Cover emerging energy markets, including hydrogen pricing trends, carbon capture and storage developments, and carbon auction coverage.
- Lead electric vehicle policy reporting across US and Canada federal and state levels.
- Report on state and provincial net-zero policy developments.
- Deliver differentiated reporting on renewable energy certificates and compliance.
- Support key daily power and energy transition publications.
Base salary range $65,000 to $95,000, with annual incentive plan. Eligible for additional S&P Global benefits.
What We’re Looking ForBasic Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional journalism experience.
- Strong writing and reporting skills, along with excellent news judgement.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute story ideas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of power and environmental markets.
- Demonstrated analytical and data visualization experience.
- Experience participating in panels, podcasts and other media.
