Job Responsibilities- Support with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems troubleshooting and repairs to support a site.
- Complete all relevant paperwork, including work order cards, checklists, and AWPs.
- Recognize wind turbine error codes and appropriately report issues.
- Replace major turbine components such as generators and gearboxes.
- Assist with high‑voltage system maintenance and repair.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on wind turbines, utilizing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic skills.
- Conduct unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
- Demonstrate the ability to learn advanced troubleshooting and repair of wind turbines.
- Establish and maintain general safety with the system/Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO).
- High School Diploma or GED. Associate’s Degree is a bonus, but not required.
- 1+ year’s experience as a Wind Turbine Technician.
- Valid driver’s license (NON‑CDL or CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and follow instructions such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, given proper instructions.
- Ability to address problems involving at least one concrete variable in standardized situations.
- Must pass a physical exam and drug/alcohol screening.
- Must lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment for work in close confines.
- Must be physically fit to free‑climb 300 ft multiple times a day while wearing 25+ lbs. of climbing gear and work in extreme weather conditions.
- Must be capable of rescuing teammates anywhere in the tower in the event of an emergency.
- Climbers must use a Personal Fall Arrest System and must not exceed the system’s maximum weight capacity of 309 lbs, which includes the individual, tooling, uniform, and protective equipment. The maximum personal body weight for climbers is 260 lbs.
