What You Can Expect
ENGIE is accelerating the energy transition by building and operating one of the largest renewable energy portfolios in North America. The Asset Management team manages a fleet of more than 10.6 GW of grid‑scale wind, solar, and battery storage assets across multiple ISO/RTO markets in the U.S. and Canada, including ERCOT, SPP, PJM, MISO, and CAISO. The portfolio is expected to grow by approximately 1 GW per year over the next decade, expanding into additional markets.
As an integral part of this team, the Asset Management Advisor manages a set of operating assets holistically. Responsibilities include commercial strategy, asset optimization, profitability tracking, contract management, landowner relationships, O&M coordination, ISO/RTO coordination, and overall operational oversight.
The role will manage multiple assets that may span different ISO/RTO markets and technologies, including onshore wind, solar, and battery storage.
What You Will Do
- Manage P&L performance for assigned operating assets, including financial results, profitability drivers, budgets, forecasts, gross margin assumptions, and action plans to optimize outcomes
- Support annual business planning, business interruption insurance, and internal forecasting through asset‑level financial analysis, performance tracking, and reporting
- Collaborate with ENGIE Trading and Energy Management teams to support market bidding strategies, risk mandates, commercial decisions, and value creation opportunities
- Manage commercial agreements and related obligations, including Power Purchase Agreements, Asset and Operations & Maintenance agreements, equipment purchase agreements, long‑term service agreements, OEM relationships, landowner agreements, invoices, and required payments
- Monitor asset KPIs and coordinate with Operations to drive performance improvements and align maintenance schedules with operational, commercial, and financial goals
- Coordinate ISO/RTO protocols, regulations, and market fundamentals, engaging internal subject matter experts and collaborating across Operations, Finance, Legal, Trading, Power Marketing, and other internal teams to resolve asset‑related issues
- Support new assets and portfolio additions during transition periods, including handover from construction and delivery to operations, asset onboarding, applicable governmental credit processes, and ongoing stakeholder reporting for management and partnership teams
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree required (Engineering, Business, or related field)
- Minimum seven (7) years of experience in asset management, energy markets, or a related energy sector role
- Experience in energy market structures, ISO protocols, and operating power generation assets (wind, solar, and/or energy storage/BESS)
- Commercial acumen with a good understanding of business principles, contracts, including specific experience with power purchase agreements and operational agreements
- Good understanding of energy market operations and how market activity impacts asset performance, profitability, and risk
- Interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders
- Desire to advance the adoption and deployment of renewable energy solutions
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills including advanced Excel skills; dashboarding/data visualization with Power BI is a plus
Additional Details
- The role is eligible for a hybrid in‑office work policy and is not eligible for fully remote working
- Must be available to travel domestically up to 15% of the time and with some overnight trips required
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Salary Range: $117,300 – $179,860 USD annually
