Private Equity-Backed Upstream Operator | Houston, TX
A well–capitalized upstream operator is seeking a Reservoir Manager to join its leadership team during an exciting period of growth. Backed by significant committed capital and led by an experienced management team, the company has recently completed strategic acquisitions, is bringing new wells online, and is preparing for an active drilling program. This is an opportunity to help build a company from the ground up while playing a key role in shaping its technical direction and long–term success.
This position offers the chance to make an immediate impact in a lean, entrepreneurial organization where decisions are made quickly and strong contributors have the opportunity to grow into executive leadership.
Responsibilities- Prepare and oversee annual reserve reports and reserve forecasting
- Perform reservoir evaluations to support drilling, development, and capital allocation decisions
- Evaluate acquisitions and divestitures through technical due diligence, reserves analysis, and economic evaluations
- Partner closely with executive leadership on development planning and strategic growth initiatives
- Present technical recommendations to senior management and investment partners
- Help establish best practices, workflows, and engineering processes as the organization continues to expand
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering
- Approximately 10+ years of reservoir engineering experience
- Strong unconventional oil and gas experience
- Extensive experience with:
- Reserve estimation and reporting
- Reservoir characterization and evaluations
- Production forecasting
- Prior A&D evaluation experience strongly preferred
- Exposure to investment banking, technical consulting, or engineering support on transactions is a plus
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to connect technical analysis to business decisions
