As a Land Intern, you will gain valuable hands‑on experience working within an asset team in one of Chevron’s dynamic business segments. You will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful, real‑world projects with direct business impact.
- Develop a strong understanding of the upstream and downstream oil and gas business through a summer‑long Land project, along with smaller assignments to provide exposure to multiple Land teams.
- Gain insight into Chevron’s operations, people, and culture, including exposure to both traditional oil and gas and New Energies.
- Support negotiations with external partners and landowners and assist in drafting agreements related to oil and gas exploration and production activities.
- Perform title research and analysis for exploration, development, workover, and plug and abandonment wells.
- Provide Land support to multidisciplinary teams to help stakeholders make informed, strategic business decisions on agreements and land ownership matters.
- Interact with federal and state agencies on oil and gas regulatory issues.
- Work closely with a dedicated mentor and buddy who will provide guidance, support, and professional development throughout the summer.
- Present your project and key learnings to senior leadership at the conclusion of the internship.
Top‑performing interns may be invited back, or offered a full‑time role after graduation. Operate in a team environment and participate in cross‑functional teams to solve business problems. - Contract interpretation/drafting/problem solving:
Review contracts submitted by third parties and identify what is acceptable or unacceptable to Chevron; draft contracts to accomplish business objectives while being acceptable to third parties; review title opinions and chain‑of‑title documents to determine required actions. - Ability to demonstrate the Chevron Way.

Compensation & BenefitsThe anticipated range for this position is $31.75–$48.00 hourly. Compensation will be determined based on role, degree level, and academic year. As an intern you will receive the following benefits:
