Role

Engine Technical Communicator – You will provide expert technical support, troubleshoot complex issues, and enhance the skills of dealer technicians within the Power Systems Division.

Your Impact
  • Assist service teams across locations in diagnosing and resolving complex equipment issues
  • Provide expert guidance to Mustang Power Systems shop & field service teams (Large Bore 290, Marine, EPG, Tomball, Waller)
  • Collaborate with Caterpillar engineers via DSN to resolve critical issues
  • Conduct applied failure analysis and manage technical service requests
  • Work with district CAT Representatives to resolve warranty concerns
  • Develop cost‑effective solutions for equipment performance issues
  • Mentor dealer technicians to enhance technical proficiency
  • Assist sales & parts teams with technical product knowledge
  • Work closely with Caterpillar to improve equipment performance and service processes
Qualifications
  • Degree in Diesel Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Caterpillar engines & power systems
Technical Skills
  • Expertise in internal combustion engines (spark vs. compression ignition)
  • Ability to read schematics, engineering drawings & machining specifications
  • Proficiency in precision measuring tools & dyno testing procedures
  • Familiarity with CAT diagnostic & service systems
  • Excellent communication & problem‑solving abilities
  • Detail‑oriented & adaptable in high‑pressure situations
  • Team player with a passion for continuous learning
