Duties- Responsible for analysis, research, and transactional support for RFP and bilateral origination activity to support the company’s wind, solar, energy storage asset development growth and existing portfolio; structured origination products include renewable portfolio PPAs, load following and carbon free energy solutions, but also more traditional PPAs, VPPAs or other financial and physical instruments.
- Work closely with the entire origination team as well as the commercial and development teams in the AES Clean Energy business.
- Support the sourcing, negotiation, and execution of long-term power sale agreements with customers to facilitate the development of renewable assets, energy storage, while meeting customers’ needs for sustainability and carbon free goals.
- Coordinating with internal teams such as Commercial, Development, Finance, Engineering, and other departments to deliver required deliverables for renewable PPA origination transactions.
- Prepare internal and external memos and presentations including RFP summaries.
- Prepare proposals and presentation materials for customers for both RFP processes as well as bilateral negotiations.
- Keep abreast of renewable energy opportunities and national trends impacting the future of renewable development opportunities and their competitiveness as they relate to customers.
- Support the development of uniform and consistent deal processes across the business.
Job requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field and 3 years of experience with energy market analysis.
Experience must include:
- 3 years of experience with Salesforce CRM
- 1 year of experience with light PPA drafting and contract interpretation
- 1 year of experience in renewable generation technology field including wind, solar and or battery storage.
- 1 year of experience in energy markets (PJM, SERC and/or NYISO)
- 1 year of experience with poly, regulations and tariffs in various energy markets
- 3 years of experience gathering market intelligence on different energy markets
- 1 year of experience with energy, capacity and environmental attributes of renewable energy products
Demonstrated knowledge of:
- Different energy market dynamics and project qualities that impact project pricing in deregulated and regulated utility markets
- Generation Technology including Natural Gas, Coal, wind, solar, and battery storage Knowledge may be gained through education, training or employment.
