Manager, Energy

The Energy Manager will lead Enterprise Products' strategy related to electrical power procurement, utilization, reliability, and optimization across gas processing plants, fractionation facilities, pipeline pump and compressor stations, storage facilities, terminals, and export assets. This role serves as the primary interface between Operations, Engineering, Commercial, Utilities, and power market participants to ensure reliable, cost-effective energy supply while supporting asset performance and growth objectives.

Responsibilities include strategic planning, utility engagement, energy economics, self-generation evaluations, cost optimization, project development support, and identification of opportunities to improve facility profitability through energy-related initiatives. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop and maintain strategic relationships with electric utilities, transmission providers, retail electric providers, and independent system operators. Negotiate electric service agreements, tariffs, rate schedules, interconnection agreements, and resolution of billing disputes. Evaluate utility infrastructure requirements and power supply alternatives for new and existing facilities. Support the development of capital projects by providing screening-level power cost estimates, utility scopes, and infrastructure assessments.

Lead analysis of self-generation, cogeneration, combined heat and power, renewable energy, battery storage, and grid-supplied power alternatives. Perform economic evaluations of energy utilization and transportation costs across Enterprise's operating assets. Identify and implement opportunities to reduce operating expenses through energy optimization and reliability improvements. Evaluate electrical system reliability risks and develop strategies to improve operational resiliency. Coordinate resolution of power quality issues, outages, maintenance activities, and utility-related operational concerns.

Provide technical and economic guidance during acquisitions, divestitures, and integration of new assets. Develop annual electric cost forecasts and support budgeting activities. Evaluate demand-side management programs, load response opportunities, and other market-based energy strategies. Support studies related to tax, regulatory, and predominant use classifications. Communicate energy market trends, utility developments, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Partner with Operations, Engineering, Commercial, Regulatory, Accounting, Tax, and Executive Management to align energy strategy with business objectives.

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Energy Management, or a related field. MBA, PE, or advanced degree is preferred. 3-10+ years of experience in energy management, utility operations, power markets, industrial operations, engineering, or related fields. Strong knowledge of industrial power systems, utility operations, electric tariffs, transmission and distribution networks, and electricity markets. Experience supporting large industrial facilities, midstream operations, petrochemical plants, refineries, or similar energy-intensive operations.

Demonstrated expertise in energy economics, utility negotiations, capital project development, and strategic planning. Strong understanding of ERCOT and other organized electricity markets is preferred. Experience evaluating self-generation and utility power alternatives. Proven ability to influence stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives. Excellent analytical, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership, regulatory organizations, utilities, and external stakeholders.
