Natural Gas Scheduler

The Natural Gas Scheduler plays a critical role in supporting CFEi's commercial operations by managing the safe, reliable, and efficient movement of natural gas across North American markets. This position serves as a key link between trading, operations, pipelines, and counter parties, ensuring gas deliveries are executed accurately and aligned with commercial commitments. Through effective scheduling, nominations, monitoring, and optimization activities, the Scheduler helps maximize value, manage operational risk, and support CFEi's mission of strengthening energy security in Mexico.

• Manage daily natural gas nominations and scheduling activities in accordance with pipeline requirements, commercial agreements, and operational needs.
• Monitor pipeline flows, measurement data, and inventory positions, making timely adjustments to manage imbalances, optimize deliveries, and address operational issues.
• Coordinate closely with traders, operations personnel, pipelines, storage providers, and counter parties to ensure reliable execution of gas transactions.
• Track pipeline operating conditions, maintenance events, constraints, and critical notices, communicating relevant updates to internal stakeholders.
• Optimize transportation, storage, and supply utilization to support commercial objectives, operational reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Maintain accurate and timely records within scheduling, commercial, and operational systems, ensuring data integrity and audit readiness.
• Review and reconcile pipeline statements, invoices, and counter party records, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed.
• Analyze operational and commercial data to identify trends, improve regional performance, and support asset optimization strategies.
• Partner with trading, risk, and operations teams to support market opportunities, manage operational risk, and enhance overall business performance.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule that provides 24/7 operational coverage, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency situations, to support uninterrupted business operations.

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Energy, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in natural gas scheduling, energy logistics, pipeline operations, or a related commercial role.
• Working knowledge of natural gas pipeline operations, transportation agreements, nominations, balancing, and Electronic Bulletin Boards (EBBs).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across commercial, operational, and external stakeholder groups.
• Willingness to participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call coverage schedule.

Preferred

• Experience in U.S. and Mexican natural gas markets.
• Familiarity with FERC, NAESB, and other applicable natural gas industry standards.
• Experience with Allegro or other ETRM and scheduling platforms.
• Understanding of natural gas trading, transportation optimization, and commercial operations.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Ability to prioritize competing demands, adapt to changing market conditions, and perform effectively under pressure.
